Margaret Davis

Margaret Bell Davis passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 89.

The daughter of Charles and Marry Flick Danemark was born December 15, 1923 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She attended Altoona schools graduating in 1941. With the outbreak of World War II Marge kept in touch with a young Navy man named Joseph Walter Davis. When the war ended and he returned home they were married in Shelton, Washington on August 19, 1945. After their marriage they returned to New Jersey where they farmed until 1968. She was a certified tax collector in two New Jersey Townships. In 1984 she retired after 23 years of service. Wanting to be near their daughters and grandchildren. Marge and Walt moved to Chelsea, Oklahoma. They built a home which is listed as a wildlife habitat known as Oklahoma wildscape. She was a member of the Rogers County Bird Club, Rogers County Historical Society, Tulsa Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, and the First Presbyterian Church of Chelsea.

She will be remembered as a loving person and resident at Wood Manor Nursing Home for the past five years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marry Danemark, husband, J. Walter Davis; brothers, Jack Danemark, Charles Danemark and sister, JoAnn Crist

Survivors include her daughters, Christine Claunts and husband Sherman of Chelsea, Mildred Griffith of Lauderhill, Florida; grandchildren, Christie Hodges and husband Jason of Claremore, Sharmen LeGrand and husband Matthew of Chelsea, Joe Claunts and wife Heather of Coconut Creek, Florida, and Chip Claunts of Lauderhill, Florida; brother, Robert Danemark; 3 great-granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
