Margaret Christine Oliverez

Funeral service for Margaret Christine Oliverez will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Pryor Apostolic Church. Pastor Nathan Chamberlain will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore under the direction of the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Margaret passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at her home in Claremore.

The daughter of Francis and Elaine Spina Rouse was born April 7, 1949 in San Fransico, California. She was raised outside of San Francisco in the town of Palo Alto. There she attended Ravens Wood High School graduating in 1967. Wanting to continue her education she enrolled at San Jose State University. She was also a part of the women's volleyball team. While in college she met Martin Oliverez. They were married in June of 1972. After college Margaret entered the work force working for a few companies in California such as GE and the Metropolitan Adult Education Center. In the early 1990's she and her family moved to Colorado. A few years later they came to Oklahoma, settling in Tulsa and later Claremore. She was always very active in her church. Teaching bible study was one of her favorite pastimes. However spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment.
She is preceded in death by her father, Francis Rouse.
Survivors include her daughter, Antonette Atkerson and husband David, grandchildren, David Bryan Atkerson Jr., Emily-Clare Elaine Atkerson, and Mary Anne Grace Atkerson; mother, Elaine Rouse, siblings, Francis Rouse Jr., Lawrence Rouse, Mary Ann Rouse, Teresa St. Mary, Anthony Rouse, Virginia Rouse, Joseph Rouse, Elizabeth Hurley, and Rebecca Fox.
