Sue passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the age of 87.
The daughter of Frank and Bertha Waller Bushfield was born August 15, 1929 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. As a young girl, she and her family moved to rural Rogers County, settling near the Sageeyah community. Eventually she and her family would move again, this time settling near Chelsea. There she began attending Winganon schools, before entering the Chelsea school system. She would graduate from Chelsea High School in 1947.
It wasn't long after graduating that Sue met Clint Walton. They were set up on a blind date by a couple of their friends. Together they all made their way to the roller skating rink located at the Tulsa fairgrounds It was a match made in heaven, and the couple would marry on November 6, 1948, at the Methodist church in Claremore. The newlywed couple made their home in Claremore, and began raising their family. After years of staying home with the children, Sue took a job working as the Claremore City Hostess A few years later, she began working at the Claremore Indian Hospital. She worked there for over 17 years before retiring in the late 1990's.
In her spare time, Sue had many hobbies and pastimes. A couple of her favorites were of course dancing and roller skating. She was also active in her church. She was a part of the First Christian Church women's group, as well as a volunteer teacher at vacation bible school. Sue was also a member of the Pocahontas Club. However, her one true love was being with her family. She hardly ever missed an event for her children, grandchildren, and even her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bertha Bushfield, and nephew, Lowell Brooks.
