Marilyn Hope Jimison was born August 9, 1955 in Farmington, New Mexico to Chester and Ellen (Gordon) Jimison.
At a young age, her family moved to Alluwe, and she attended Alluwe and Nowata schools. Later the family moved back to New Mexico before returning to Oklahoma, where she graduated from Chelsea schools in 1973. It was in 1972 that she married Harold Jones, and this union was blessed with two sons, Harold Gene and Danny Jones. Although they parted ways after a few years, they remained friends to the end.
Marilyn's joy in life was raising her boys. She worked as a Nurse Aid in many places throughout her career to ensure that she could provide everything that she could for her boys. After retiring, her focus of taking care of others shifted to be able to have the blessing of taking care of her grandchildren. She always enjoyed her time with them, playing, swimming, and teaching them life lessons, like how to make a bed just right. She also enjoyed gardening, always having what others considered a jungle of beautiful flowers and plants, and each one she could tend perfectly.
Marilyn passed away on January 1, 2024, surrounded by her family. Private family services will be held.
She is preceded in death by her father, Chester Jimison, brother, Sonny Jimison, and many grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
She is survived by her children, Harold Gene Jones and wife Tanya of Nowata, and Danny Jones and wife Jamilee of Chelsea; mother, Ellen Newman of Chelsea; sisters Faye Jimison and Alvina Jimison, both of Chelsea, and Donna Broyles of Langley; grandchildren, Hailey "Sara" Davis, Hunter Jones, Jessica Jones, and Tessa Jones; great-grandchildren, Jayden Davis, Emmalyn Davis, Addison McMaster, and Madison McMaster. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
