Memorial service for Marilyn M. Morgan will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2022 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Marilyn passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was 93.
Born April 18, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Merl Maxwell and Magdalene Genevive (Schlosser) Wilson, Marilyn spent a lot of her childhood in Afton where she helped her mother run a bus station, the family later moved to Sperry. While in Sperry, she met Kenneth Leon Quinton and the two were wed. The couple made their home in several different places, with Owasso being home for most of the time.
Marilyn was an excellent seamstress; she used this talent to begin a career in custom drapes. She worked for many years and was very successful at her craft. On November 21, 1975, Marilyn married Carl Morgan, they made their home in Skiatook until moving to Claremore about 4 years ago. When Marilyn wasn't busy with work, she enjoyed sewing and hand stitching. She loved having family over for the holidays and traveling to visit relatives. She was a perfectionist and would start over to keep her stitching just right. Marilyn loved her family and enjoyed visiting with them and her friends.
Those family members that survive include her children Linda Kay McConnell, Carl W. Morgan, Jr. and his wife Terry, Edward Leon Quinton and wife LaRhonda, Elizabeth Ann Payne and husband Charles, Douglas Dewayne Quinton and wife Brenda, Clay Morgan and wife Robin; her grandchildren Christina, Joanna, Brandi, Lucas, Edward, Jr, Nikki, Randy, Ryan, Matthew, Darla, Cheyenne, Chaye, and Ricky; her many great and great great grandchildren; her sister Eva Sue Sidwell and husband James. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, son Donald Wayne Quinton, David Lee Quinton, great granddaughter Mackenzie Dawn Payne, and son-in law John McConnell.
