Marjorie Evelyn White passed away on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at the age of 95.
The daughter of Thomas and Elfleda (Walton) McElroy was born October 21, 1926 in Paso Robles, California. During her younger years Marjorie spent most of her time in the Redlands area of southern California. It was there that she would first meet George White. They would begin dating, and married on June 17, 1942. Over the next several years Marjorie and George traveled frequently between California and Oklahoma. However, in 1958 with a now growing family, George and Marjorie planted their roots in the Chelsea area. In the years to follow Marjorie worked hard taking care of her family. As her children became older, Marjorie took a job working outside the home. She began working as a seamstress for places such as Cherokee Toggs, Marcus's and EE sewing factory, before retiring in the late 1990's. Even after her retirement she continued doing the things she loved, such as raising a garden, canning, cooking for her family, and even doing her own yard work well into her 80's.
Other hobbies and pastimes she enjoyed included dancing, quilting, and watching her grandchildren in their activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Elfleda McElroy; husband, George H. White; children, Jimmy and Francis Kathleen White; grandson, Jim White, and siblings, Leland McElroy and Velma Dearmore.
Survivors include her children, Kenny White and wife Marilyn, Jerry White and wife Marie, Elaine Taylor and husband Leroy, Janice Ellick, and Debbie Murphy and husband Jody; grandchildren, Kim Bagby and husband Jon, Renae Goins and husband Jeremy, Steven White, Angie Boyd and husband John, Scott White and wife Lori, Tina Holeman and husband Mike, Randy Taylor and wife Jayme, Kenny Taylor and wife Christy, Donny Taylor and wife Doylann, Julie Taylor, Mike Hughes and wife Shelly, Josh Hughes and wife Vida, Casey Murphy, and Corey Murphy and wife Abby; along with many other great-grandchildren and extended family.
