Marney Hedge was the daughter of Jack Hedge and Nancy (Berry) Hedge Chambers. She was born on June 17, 1975, in Claremore, OK. Marney passed from this life on September 26, 2021, at the age of 46.
Marney was a vibrant and active child. She was well known for her laugh and antics.
She attended Claremore Public Schools and graduated with the class 1993. She loved being involved in Vo-tech and the Future Farmers of America. With this education Marney went on to become a very talented welder. Her family said she was one of the best TIG welders around.
She was also an animal lover through and through. She enjoyed horses very much. On camping trips as a girl, she would take advantage of any trail ride or hayride that was available. She also spent several summers working with racehorses alongside her great uncle Bill Hedge on his ranch in Sallisaw. Those closest to Marney knew she had an affinity for stray animals.
Marney loved attending concerts of all kinds and was a huge fan of the Dixie Chicks and Stevie Nicks.
It is said among some that she made the best fried chicken. She loved cooking on the grill for her friends and family. Many of her meals may have been the fish she and her daughters often caught on her dad’s pond.
Marney always gave her best. She often believed she could fix anything, whether she had the experience to do so or not. She was of great support to many of her friends and her daughter has been told, “she always knew exactly what to say and was always there when I needed her.”
She is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Chambers, brother, Jason Hedge, and both sets of grandparents.
Marney is survived by daughters, Samantha Dixon and Jessica Graziano, parents, Jack and Nan Hedge, brother, Jerry Chambers and his family, brother, John Hedge and his family, her sister, Kristen Hedge, and many cousins and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Wild Heart Ranch or local animal shelters would put a smile on Marney’s face.
