Memorial service for Marsha Ann McIntosh will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel.  Marsha passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022 at the age of 80.

The eldest child of Glenn and Betty Sifers’ three children, she was born August 21, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Marsha grew up and went to school in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1960.  Later that year, she married Curtis McIntosh.  They were married for 10 years and had three children David, Bonnie, and Steven.

Marsha began working for the Tulsa City-County Library in 1976.  She began her career at the library as a floater, and employee able to move around the entire system and fill in as needed.  After a few years, she settled permanently in Community Information Services, a unique department that answered questions regarding anything you wanted to know about Tulsa and Tulsa County.  Marsha was often the first voice you would hear when you called the downtown Central Library.  She knew many of the regular downtowners by name, and many would stop by to say hello to her.  Marsha often represented her department by attending community meetings to problem solve issues concerning Tulsa and the needs of its citizens. She was very active in the community. She even went with a group from Community Information Services to Baton Rouge to present a professional workshop to other librarians from across the country on how to establish a similar service in their own community. In her later years at the library, she moved to a quieter and calmer area of the library called Technology Services, where she worked behind the scenes to build up the library digitally. One of her coworkers added that she was a great babysitter and that she called all of the kids “punkin.”  After twenty-four years she retired from the library in 2000.

When she wasn’t hard at work, Marsha enjoyed trips to the casino, restaurants, music, and spending time with family and friends.  She loved dogs and cats, and considered herself more spiritual rather than religious.

Marsha will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  She is survived by her son David McIntosh and daughter Bonnie and husband Clayton McIntosh; and sister Marilyn Pascoe; grandchildren Cristen Senter and husband Matthew, Christopher McIntosh and wife Bronte, Randy McIntosh and wife Jennette, Ryan McIntosh, and Grace McIntosh; great grandchildren Ian Senter, Haidynn McIntosh, Emaleigh McIntosh, Jaxon McIntosh, Brooklyne McIntosh, Jesse McIntosh, and Michael McIntosh; nieces Nancy Phariss and husband Jason, Trisha Melhouse and husband Mark, Mary Jo Rodriguez and Rene Rodriguez; great niece Sydney Jo Phariss.  Marsha was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Betty Sifers, her brother Joe Sifers, and her son Steven McIntosh.
