Born September 27, 1941 in Louisburg, Kansas, to Marvin and Georgia (Livingston) Spurlock, Mary Ann attended schools in Louisburg, graduating with the class of 1959.  Following high school, she went to work for Kansas University Medical Center as a secretary.  After becoming a mother, Mary Ann stayed at home and took great care of her family.  She also worked various jobs through the years, including checking on oil field jacks.  She also modeled clothing for Big K.

On October 23, 1992, Mary Ann married Carlton Wayne Brown, she was most happy during this time.  Together they traveled and saw many places. They settled in Foyil, Oklahoma in 1999 where they became active members of the Friendly Foyil Baptist Church and also helped to raise their two grandchildren Justin Bauer and Cameron Jones. Mary Ann had a passion for sharing the love of Jesus with children through the Church’s Awana’s Club and Cubbies programs.

Mary Ann was a caretaker at heart and loved helping anyone who asked. She never hesitated to help someone in need.  She also enjoyed nurturing her many pets over the years.   She had the ability to rescue any animal and bring it back from near death and was known to have done this many times throughout her life. She even had a crow as a child and as an adult, that she taught to talk, plus many dogs and cats over the years.  Mary Ann was very attached to the critters she cared for and made sure they lived the most comfortable life possible.

Those family members that survive include her children Rogena Aguero, Anne Adams and husband Dave, Mike Storm and wife Jennie, Julie Bauer, Marlo Burch, Carla Cooper and husband Brian, Tinker Brown and wife Kimberly, Marvin Vail and wife Danielle, Tanya Burrell and husband Robert, and Buttons Brown; her beloved 30 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; her sisters Judy Buckner and Virginia Spurlock.  Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband Wayne Brown.
