Mary Louise Clark passed away December 28, 2012, at the Oklahoma Claremore Veterans Center. She was 92. She was born on October 13, 1921, in Chelsea and was a longtime resident. She also lived in Tulsa, OK; Collinsville, OK; and Casper WY.
Her parents were Floyd and Edna Pritchard of Chelsea. Mary attended Chelsea Schools and the Oklahoma University Nursing School. She was employed as a registered nurse by St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa and the Tulsa Public Health Department. She also worked as a private duty nurse. During World War II she served as an Army nurse attaining the rank of first lieutenant serving in China, Burma and India.
Mary was active in P.E.O.; Delphian Club of Chelsea; and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was baptized and married in the First Presbyterian Church in Chelsea and her memorial service will be held there, also.
She is survived by her son, Dale H. Clark; and a granddaughter, Nancy Allison Dickinson of Ellicott City, MD. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Maurice E. Clark. Also, her elder son, Neil W. Clark, who died in 1992.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the American Legion Post 60 Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 12, Chelsea, OK 74016.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Chelsea on January 2 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory.
