Davis, Mary Louise: (3/16/27-9/29/15) Long-time Claremore resident and Oklahoma native, your kind and loving heart will be sorely missed. Claremore was always near to Mary’s heart as her daddy ran the barbershop next to the Will Rogers Hotel for many years. After the war, Mary and high school sweetheart and now husband Paul relocated to Southern California’s industry boom. Their pioneer spirit led them to Colorado where Mary ran their diner and Paul his auto repair business. They returned to California where Paul worked as a Boilermaker and union Business Manager and Mary worked at a variety of retail jobs and raised their two daughters until retirement. They then came back to their roots in Claremore to enjoy family and old friends.
Mary is survived by her daughters Linda McEndree of Vertigris and Susan Hicks of California; granddaughter Cheyann Rumley of Tulsa; Great grandchildren Jon, Ainsley and Cade; daughter-in-law Courtney McEndree of Tulsa. Mary’s many cousins, in-laws and friends were very close to her and all of us benefitted from her kindness, love and generosity.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Paul Davis and her grandson Cody McEndree, whose ribald card games she dearly loved. Watching them play was like stepping back into the Old West and was great fun for any lucky enough to witness.
Her full and rich life should be viewed with happiness and joy by all fortunate enough to take lesson from it.
