Memorial service for Mary Rives Dickson will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 23, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McAlister officiating. Services are under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mary died Mon., July 5, 2010, at her home at the age of 75.
The daughter of Edgar Granvil and Nora Belle (Cross) Parks, Mary was born Jan. 18, 1935, in Chelsea, Okla. She grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1955. Mary worked for First National Bank of Tulsa and later Tulsa Federal Savings. They changed their name to Mid America Savings and later Local America Bank. She worked there for 18 years. Mary later worked for the Chelsea Gas Authority for 25 years. On Feb. 24, 1957, she married Jack Donald Dickson at Memorial Methodist Church in Chelsea. She loved her two children with all her heart, and loved her poodle dog (Cuddles). She enjoyed growing flowers and spending time with her special friends. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Chelsea.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Edgar and Nora Parks; brothers: James W. and Charles L. Parks.
She is survived by her children: Sharla Jeanette Weldon and husband, David of Orange, TX, and Charles Donald Dickson of Chelsea; brothers: Arthur Brian Parks and wife, Gertie Marie of Tulsa, and Gene Granville Parks and wife, Virginia of Inola; sister-in-law, Marion Parks of Claremore; grandchildren: Thomas Leroy and Jessica Nicole Frye, Charlton Blake and Chelsey Renae Dickson; Melissa Couvillion and husband Andre, and Tiffany, Twyla, Amber, and Dalton Weldon; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Nicole, Alexis, Sean, and Ashton ; 7 nieces, 2 nephews, and many friends.
