Mary Elizabeth Epperson

Graveside service for Mary Elizabeth Epperson will be 10 a.m., Wed., June 1, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.

Mary died Thurs., May 26, 2011, at Wood Manor at the age of 86.

The daughter of Andrew and Lyda (Anderson) Odom was born June 28, 1924, in Tulsa. There she attended Rogers High School. It was also in Tulsa that she met George Epperson. On October 22, 1941 Mary married George in Walkerton, IN. She enjoyed traveling with George while he worked. They settled in Tulsa and Mary went to work with Bell Telephone. They later moved to Claremore, Oologah, and then back to Claremore. She worked at Claremore Indian Hospital and Wood Manor Nursing Home. Mary loved spoiling her grandchildren, bingo, gambling, and watching TV.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George; and her parents.

Mary is survived by her sons: Nick Epperson and wife, Sandra of Talala, and Dennis Epperson of Claremore; brother, Kenneth Odom of Claremore; grandchildren: Deenee Burrow of Claremore, Denise Tipton and husband, John of Tulsa, Marca Wells and husband, Jeremy of Oologah, Heath Williams of Shawnee, Monica Fletcher of Talala, Boone Epperson of Clayton, and James Epperson of Talala; and great-grandchildren: Zackary Tatum, Lakreshia Vance, Wyatt Wells, and Peyton Wells.
