The daughter of Virgil and Mary Jacobs Tedlock was born June 25, 1938, in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Over the next few years, Mary traveled with her family between California and Oklahoma. As she became old enough to attend school, Mary and her family settled in Chelsea. She attended Chelsea schools, graduating with the class of 1956. After graduation, she continued her education by enrolling in business college in Bartlesville. Upon finishing school, she traveled between Arizona and Kansas before returning to Chelsea around 1968.
Several years later, she married Lon Maggard. At this point in her life, she was a stay at home mom.Taking care of her family was her main priority. Her home was always open to her children and their friends, as well as anybody who just needed to talk. It wasn't uncommon for people to just stop by and have a cup of coffee.
In her spare time, she enjoyed writing music and poetry, working large, intricate jigsaw puzzles, and watching TV. Some of her favorites were Joyce Meyer, HGTV, and the Cooking Channel. However, her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends. She loved hearing her son and grandson play guitar, and in her later years, she especially loved for her grandchildren to visit and sing or read the Bible to her. She was also a wonderful cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mary Tedlock; husband, Lon Maggard, grandson, Matt Maggard and brother, Bill Tedlock.
