Funeral service for Mary Ellen Malaske will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Round Mountain Cemetery, Vian. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. and Wed. 1-8 p.m.
Mary entered this life on September 18, 1923, to the parents of Roy and Clara Paulk of Crescent, Oklahoma. She returned home to her heavenly father on August 1st, 2015.
Mary is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Jan Laird of Inola; grandchildren: Brian Laird and Terri Laird; great-grandchild, Arian Laird; nephews: Bobby, Jim, Marc, Jerry, and Ronnie; and nieces: Vickie and Janice.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Sissy and Julia; brothers: Charles and J.B.; and great-grandchildren: Seth and Caleb.
Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, and taking care of anyone who needed help. Mary's vocation in life was spent as a nurse's aide in many private homes over the years caring for elderly or homebound individuals. In her retirement years, Mary cooked for "Meals on Wheels" and enjoyed sharing and helping her neighbors. Mary resided in Inola and Vian, and had a host of friends and loved ones in both towns.
