Mary J. (Cooper) Moffet, 70, passed away Thursday, July 7th, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Red Bluff, California to Thomas and Betty (Dobson) Cooper on March 19th, 1952.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lonnie J. Rice; daughter, Rose Elaine; brothers, Johnny and Thomas Cooper.
Mary loved poetry, gardening, canning and collecting all things mouse. She canned the best apple butter, zucchini relish and stuffed peppers, among so much more. Mary was an accomplished poet and had been published many times. Mary could often be found walking her dogs or just spending quality time with them. You would be hard pressed to find another pair as well fed and spoiled as Bryndul and Brown E. Mary enjoyed preparing home cooked meals and sharing humor filled conversation, with loved ones, while playing games of Uno and Bananagrams, around the dinner table. Mary was a member of and attended First United Methodist Church of Claremore, Oklahoma. She loved serving her Lord and Savior. Mary was especially proud of all the children she taught in Sunday school.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Moffet of Claremore, OK; daughter, Jennifer Peel and husband Jessie of Chouteau, OK; grandson, Wyatt Rice; great- granddaughter, Alaya; brother, Roger Cooper and wife Pam of Alameda, California; and sister, Loretta (Cooper) Knapp and husband Chuck of Bend, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local pet shelter or The American Diabetes Association in her name.
