Funeral service for Mary Lea Stout will be 10 a.m., Sat., Aug. 8, at Eden Mennonite Church with Jon Rummel officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Mary passed away Wed., Aug. 5, 2015, at the Oklahoma Heart Institute, Tulsa, at the age of 56.
The daughter of Clovis Arland Hill and Opal Maxine (Curtsinger) Hill was born July 7, 1959, in Pryor. She attended Pryor High School where she played basketball, graduating in 1977. Mary continued her education at Rogers State University where she met Duane Stout. They were married on July 28, 1979, in Pryor, with Duane pushing Mary down main street in the traditional wheelbarrow. They made their home in Inola. Mary worked 30 years in the insurance business, and the last 10 years at HUB International Inc. of Tulsa. If Mary wasn't working she was busy taking care of her family. Mary worked on the ranch and farm, and enjoyed attending her kids sporting events and livestock shows. She also cherished the times spent with her granddaughter, Josie. She was currently serving her community as a member on the Inola School Board.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clovis.
Survivors include her husband, Duane of the home; children: Greg Stout and wife, Alisha and their daughter, Josie, Stephanie Hass and husband, Jacob, and Clark Stout all of Inola; mother, Maxine Hill of Inola; sisters: Pat Harris and husband, Dan of Leavenworth, KS, Judy Hill of El Reno, and Linda Grimes of Mesquite, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made the Inola FFA or the 4-H Booster Club to help fund scholarships.
