Mary T. Sunday, a beloved mother, proud home maker, and faithful wife, has passed away on October 23, 2023, in Tulsa. She was born on May 12, 1933, in Eucha, Oklahoma to Dewey and Minnie Teehee.
Mary attended Jay public schools and played on the basketball team.
She married Henry Sunday on October 13, 1949. Mary had a passion for taking care of her family and devoted her life to raising her children. She found immense joy in creating a warm and loving home for her loved ones.
Mary was a long time member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and was saved and baptized at a young age.
In her leisure time, Mary enjoyed various activities that brought her happiness. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing alongside her beloved husband Henry. Gardening was another passion of hers; she took pleasure in tending to her vegetables and  flower beds watching them bloom with vibrant colors. She also loved to sew and make quilts. Mary had a love for singing in Cherokee and attending Cherokee Singings. Her culinary skills were renowned amongst friends and family, particularly when it came to making her biscuits and pies. She would make amazing pies, frybread and cobblers for her daughters restaurant. Traveling to Tahlequah, California and Jay to visit loved ones left a lasting impression on Mary. She also indulged in shopping sprees and relished visiting Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri as well as Eureka Springs in Arkansas.

Mary's dedication extended beyond the walls of her home; she maintained a strong bond with both family and friends throughout the years. She held dear memories shared with loved ones who will forever cherish those precious moments.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents Dewey and Minnie Teehee, husband Henry Sunday Sr., sons Dewey Lee Sunday and Henry Sunday Jr., three brothers, and four sisters. Although she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, Mary's memory will be forever treasured.

Mary is survived by her daughters Laverda Bohanon and husband Terry, Louise Imerbthama and husband Tavin, Susie Sunday, Julie Welch and husband John, and Patricia Lawson and 1 brother. Her legacy lives on through her twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mary T. Sunday leaves behind a treasured legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering strength. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, a caretaker of her family's happiness, and a relationship with God. She has entered sweet eternal peace in Jesus's care as her memory lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her.
