Mary Joan Tetreault passed away December 16, 2023. She was born February 25, 1938, in Mena, Arkansas to her loving parents, Vernon and Nellie Witt.
Mary’s journey through life took her to numerous places with her spouse David - residing in Tulsa, Denver, Cody, Casper, and Boise. However, Claremore became her final home. Mary attended school at St. Scholastica Monastery in Ft. Smith, Arkansas where she developed a strong foundation and love for the Infant Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
One of Mary’s most cherished accomplishments was forming The Divine Will prayer groups across Oklahoma, Idaho, and Wyoming. Through these prayer groups she touched the lives of many people, sharing the teachings of Luisa Piccarreta. Additionally, Mary established the Adoration Chapel at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Casper, Wyoming, a testament to her deep Catholic faith and devotion.
Mary was very well known for her cooking and the exquisite care she took of family and guests in her home. Both were a huge part of her life.
Beyond her spiritual endeavors, Mary had a unique talent for needlepoint work. Her exceptional skills were recognized when she won an international championship judged by none other than the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly. Her artistic talents brought beauty into the world and brought joy to those who had the privilege of seeing her creations.
Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to resonate through the lives of her surviving family members and friends. Those family members include her three children: Cathy Ide and husband Bob, Carole Kimbrough and husband Jim, David Tetreault and wife Diana; as well as 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Mary is survived by her siblings Vincent Witt and his wife Sharon, and Rita Cook and her husband Dick. Her beloved parents, husband David, and her grandson Marcus Loucks preceded her in death.
