Matthew Evan Larabee

June 16, 1978 — August 11, 2015

Matthew "Matt" Evan Larabee

On the evening of August 11th, 2015 Matt passed away in his home in Tulsa, OK. Matt was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 16, 1978. He was the second child, and the first son, of Cathy and Gary Larabee.

Matt was an avid athlete and played multiple sports in his youth, but found a love and passion for tennis. His love for the game helped the Claremore High School Tennis Team capture the 4A State Championship in 1996. His Tennis career carried into college where he obtained a scholarship, playing for Cowley County Community College as well as Seminole State.

Matt was a genuine and whole-hearted person, who loved his family and friends. As a kid, Matt constantly brought joy to others through his artistic capabilities and his desire to making people laugh. His free spirit and charming nature was felt by all.

Matt, a conservationist, enjoyed nature and cared for all in the world around him. He most recently rescued and adopted two cats, which he loved dearly. He loved being outdoors, either playing tennis or frisbee golf. Matt was also a Jeopardy enthusiast and would have challenged Alex Trebek to a round of America's favorite quiz game.

Matt was preceded in death by his father, Gary Gene Larabee in February of this year.

Matt is survived by his mother, Cathy Larabee; and sisters: Danielle (Larabee) Fraser, and Allison Larabee.

Memorial services to be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 15th, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Father Sylvanus Amaobi officiating.

"In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing.
And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky at night"
- The Little Prince Antoine de Saint-Exupery
