Michael Troy Burch

Funeral service for Michael Burch was 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the Inola First Baptist Church. Pastor T.J. Helling officiated. Burial followed at Sweeten Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory.

Michael passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, at the age of 67.

Michael Troy Burch, the son of Richard and Louetta Keithley Burch, was born September 23, 1949 in Borger, Texas. He graduated from Dumas, Texas in 1968 and went on attend college in Lubbock at Texas Tech.

In 1974, Michael moved to Tulsa to work with Riverside Industries. Not long after his move, he went on a blind date with a young woman named Brenda Merryman. There was an instant connection. A short courtship followed, and the two were married a few months later on August 2, 1975, in Tulsa. They would make their home in Tulsa for the next few years. They then moved to Inola, while Micheal worked in Pryor for Inter Plastic and Hem-Shaw. When Hem-Shaw moved from Pryor, the family followed them to Mixon, Missouri. In 1986, after a few years in Missouri, the family moved back to Inola. Michael then bought a trash route there, which he operated until retiring in 2004.

Most recently, he had begun working for Inola Public Schools. He began working there in 2008 part time, but it was always one of his favorites. He continued working there until his health forced him to slow down.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Louetta Burch; father-in-law, Denver Merryman, and sisters-in-law, Shelia Burch and Rhonda Merryman.

Mr. Burch was survived by wife Brenda Merryman Burch; son Brandon Burch; daughter Amber Burch Rinke, and Bob Willis; Grandkids, Garrett Winkel, Erica and Tori Burch, James Rinke; mother-in-law Della Merryman; brothers, Keith Burch and wife Donna, and Dennis Burch; sister, Carol Wonderly and husband Glen, and many loving nieces and nephews.
