Michael O'Neal Coley

Michael O'Neal Coley, a dedicated family man, passed away on August 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, service, and love. Born on May 11, 1941, Langdale, Alabama to his loving parents Alfred and Janette Coley, Michael's journey was one marked by extraordinary achievements and unwavering commitment.

Michael's career spanned 34 years at American Airlines and excelled as the Director of Maintenance at Frontier Airline. His passion for aviation began during his 4-year service in United States Air Force. Notably he played a crucial role as an Aircraft Mechanic during the Bay of Pigs invasion.

A proud alumnus of Valley High School in Fairfax, AL (Class of 1960), Michael was also an Eagle Scout with the Order of the Arrow and a devoted Deacon at First Baptist Church Claremore. Michael married the love of his life Gloria Coley on February 4th 1962. The couple had 62 wonderful years together. 

Outside of his professional life, Michael found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a green thumb and loved tending to his garden and working on home improvement projects. Air shows captivated him, while NASCAR races thrilled him. His adventurous spirit led him to explore antique stores, travel across the U.S. with his family, and enjoy camping expeditions in Colorado.

In his personal life, Michael treasured every moment spent with his beloved family. He is survived by his adoring wife Gloria Coley; his son Stuart Coley and daughter-in-law Jackie; daughter Sonja Coley; and daughter Susan Elaine Meier along with seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

Michael O'Neal Coley's profound impact on his family, friends, and colleagues will always be cherished and remembered. May his soul rest in peace knowing that he made a difference in the lives of those around him.
