Funeral service for Michael Wayne Oxford will be 2 p.m., Tues., Jan. 19, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Denton Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Ward's Grove Cemetery, Foyil. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-5 p.m.
Michael passed away Wed., Jan. 13, 2016, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 52.
The son of Herron Wayne Oxford and Sandra Elizabeth (Shouse) Oxford was born Jan. 7, 1964, in Tulsa. Michael grew up and attended school in Foyil, where he played basketball and was in the choir. He was a valedictorian for the class of 1982, and continued his education at Rogers State University. Michael was a salesman for Rainbow Air Purification Systems for 15 years, before becoming an entrepreneur. He owned 21st St. Station, Beach Shack, and No Place in Tulsa; and his last adventure was with Thrive. Michael loved to sing karaoke and had many friends. He also enjoyed golfing and talking politics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herron and Sandra Oxford; and grandparents.
Michael is survived by his children: Jordon Marshall and fiancéé, Zac of Pryor, Joseph Oxford of Shawnee, Dakota Oxford of Tulsa, Michael Oxford of Tulsa, Miranda Oxford of Catoosa, and Nathan Oxford of Catoosa; brother, Jeff Oxford and wife, Kelly of Claremore; grandmother, Hazel Rose of Foyil; grandchildren: Kaden, Lane, Kennedy, and Ryder; niece and nephews: Faith Nicole, Jeffrey Michael, and Tyten Neal; and aunts, uncles, cousins and long time companion Christi Oxford.
