Funeral services for Michael D. Ross will be 2:00p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Chelsea, Pastor Jay McAlister will officiate. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 3pm—8pm on Thursday, February 5 at the funeral home. Michael went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the age of 51.
Michael David Ross was born in Claremore on July 19, 1963 to Vernon Clay and Lena Ruth (Barnes) Ross. He graduated from Big Cabin High School with the class of 1981. On December 16, 1988, Michael married Glenda Gail Terry and the couple just celebrated 26 years of marriage. He worked for several different companies including Ross Martin and Corporate Express and most recently was employed with Rogers State University as a printing press operator. Michael enjoyed remodeling homes, building cabinets, farming and working on cars. But most of all he loved being with his beloved family.
Those family members that survive include his wife Glenda of their home in Chelsea; his step-daughter Christi Heiney and husband Tommy also of Chelsea; his step-son Danny Hefner, Jr. and wife Andrea of Crestview, Florida; his mother Lena Ross of Big Cabin; his siblings Millie Pinkston and husband Tim of Chelsea, Gary Ross and wife LaMoyne and Lisa Ross West and husband Boyd all of Claremore; his grandchildren Bobby Heiney, Sara Heiney, Morgan Heiney, Victoria Van Hoorebeke, Stephen Hefner; his great grandchildren Kobe Heiney and Kayden Carroll. Michael was preceded in death by his father Vernon Ross, his sister Kathy Ross and his grandparents Jack and Leona Barnes and Henry and Iona Ross.
