Michael Ray Tarvin

Funeral service for Michael Ray Tarvin will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 17 at New Life Baptist Church in Claremore. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be at New Life Baptist Church from 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday.
Michael passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the age of 64.
The son of Glen A. and Barbara June (Walker) Tarvin, Michael was born February 18, 1955 in Huntsville, AL. He graduated from Claremore High School in 1973. On May 15, 1976, he married Kathy Ann Bugg in Claremore, OK where they made their home. Michael retired from the Naval Reserve Seabees in 2001 after serving 20 years. Michael worked for Asphalt and Fuel Transport. He loved his family and enjoyed camping, travel, target shooting, and riding his motorcycle.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; children Matthew Tarvin and wife, Gaby of Tulsa, Amanda Tarvin of Claremore; grandchildren Bianca and Valentina Tarvin; sister Glenda Wilson and husband, Jim of Chelsea.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
