Funeral service for William Michael Warner will be 3 p.m., Tues., Dec. 31, at First Baptist Church of Inola with Brother Doug Boling officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeten Cemetery, Inola, under the direction of Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Mike passed away Fri., Dec. 27, 2013, at his home at the age of 65.
The son of William Amasa and Bonnie Louise (Ashworth) Warner was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Tulsa. He was raised in Tulsa, where he attended Charles Page High School in 1966. Then at the age of 18 he started working for PSO. However in November of 1970 Mike left PSO to join the United States Army. While in the Army he was stationed at several places, but served mostly at Ft. Hood in Texas and in Germany. Upon his discharge Mike returned to Oklahoma, and again began working at PSO. During his career there he worked his way up to Foreman On the Line Crew. On Aug. 5, 2000, Mike married Jane Ellen Durst in Broken Arrow. They made their home in Tulsa before moving to Inola in 2001. In his spare time Mike enjoyed yard work, working on his cars, watching OU football and racing.When his children were young he enjoyed coaching softball and basketball. He was also a member of the IBW union #1002.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Michael Brian Warner.
He is survived by his wife, Jane E. Warner of the home; daughters: Amy N. Westmoreland and husband, Brad of Haskell, and Missy Makres and husband, Tony of Tulsa; son, Stephen Warner and wife, Carey of Tulsa; step-daughters: Kriston J. Gerler of Tahlequah, and Lacey B. Gerler and husband, Dane of Inola; grandchildren: Eric, Autumn, Kyle, Colton, Brannon, Riley, Parker, and Dace; great-grandchild, Kennedy; sister, Susan L. Thornton and husband, David of Stigler; and brother, Perry L. Warner and wife, Janie of Pryor.
