Service for Mildred J. Erdmann will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 28 from 2pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm. Mildred passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was 88.
Mildred Juanita Erdmann was born October 12, 1933 in Lee County, Virginia to Lon and Gertrude (Sproles) Collins. She was educated there in Virginia in a one room school house. Later she lived in Knoxville, Tennessee working for Krispy Kreme Donuts. She made a move to Tampa, Florida with Krispy Kreme working at office manager. While in Tampa, Mildred met and later married Alfred DeWayne Erdmann on January 28, 1967. The couple made their home in Tampa, then later move to Topeka, Kansas. Between the years of 1973-1977 they lived in Hawaii, and then moved to Claremore and this has been home since.
Family was most important to Mildred and she was there to make sure they were well taken care of. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, working crossword puzzles, and traveling. Mildred never met a stranger and always enjoyed meeting new people and many became good friends.
Her kindness and generosity will be missed by all who knew her. Those family members that survive include her husband Al Erdmann of 55 years; her sons Stan Erdmann of Claremore, DeWayne Erdmann and wife Joyce of Orem, Utah, Mike Erdmann and wife Marilyn of North Pole, Alaska; daughters Jeannie Brown of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; brothers Buddy Evans and wife Teresa of Dade City, Florida and Don Evans and wife Wilma of Madisonville, Tennessee; brothers-in-law Jim Barry and Kirk Brown; Sister-in-Law Mary Powers of San Bernardino, California, and Sally Erdmann of Durant, Ok many grand and great grand children; daughter-in-law Shirley Hays of Checotah. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Bessie Ferguson, Sharon Barry, and Maggie McDonald; Step- Sister Harriet Brimm and son Chris Erdmann.
