Services for Mildred "Sue" Kersey will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Friendly Foyil Baptist Church in Foyil, Oklahoma. There will be Visitation from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore. Sue passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in Claremore. She was 86. Born to parents Roy M. Nance and Nola Mae (Custer) Nance on November 16, 1931 in Alton, Missouri.
Sue graduated from Central High School in Tulsa in May 1950. She married George Kersey on September 24, 1954.
Sue enjoyed knitting and crocheting, gardening, canning, making blankets for her grandbabies, and baking, Sue was most famous for her fudge, especially her peanut butter fudge.
Sue is survived by her children; Brenda Brakefield and husband Jim, Scott Kersey and wife Sue, Beth Jones and husband Wes; grandchildren, Julia Brakefield-Pino and Kevin, Sarah and Chris Boyles, Shawnda and Cory Ross, Elisha and Logan Wells, Jeremy and Mindy Kersey, Jason Kersey, Megan and Cody Hammonds, Joshua Harris, Bryana Still, Morgan Still, Ashley Whitham and Jacob Norman, Daniel Anselme and Christine, Michaelanne and Ethan Kearns, Kersey Jones, Katherine Jones and Cory, Calista Firor and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Megan and Josiah Pickup, baby boy Pino, Brody and Morgan Boyles, Eli and Serena Steele, Jadyn Ross, Tatum and Cole Wells, Andre and Jerico Kersey, Amayah and Seth Jimenez, Kayzlee and Aaiden Still, Palmer Whitham, Alethia Norman, Kaleah, Emmanuel and Arabella Kearns, Brody Williams, Jaxon Wolfenburger, Austyn Trammell, Addy and Kennedy Firor, Eliana Reeder; brother Bob Nance and wife Betty, sister Melba Finnell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband George.
