Mildred Fern Lindsey

Mildred Fern (Davis) Lindsey passed away on August 22, 2021, she was 94 years old. Milly was born on March 2nd, 1927 in Avoka, AR to Clifford and Tommy Faye Davis. Growing up Mildred attended schools in Arkansas and Missouri and graduated from Tulsa Central High School.
After high school she attended the Hillcrest School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. Milly agreed to a blind date with John Lindsey and the two fell in love. The couple was married on December 4, 1950 and made their home in Tulsa.
Mildred had a passion for service and taking care of people and worked as a nurse for many years. She worked for Hillcrest Hospital, private duty nursing and retired from Tulsa Public Schools as a school nurse. After retirement her and Johnny enjoyed traveling. They made trips to Alaska, several cruises, visited Europe and many trips to visit their family. One of her favorite hobbies was china painting and she was a very active member of the Tulsa China Painting Club. Above everything else she loved her family dearly. You could always count on seeing her at every single one of her grand kids activities.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Lindsey; Parents Clifford and Tommy Faye Davis, siblings Sara Beth Edwards, and Preston Davis.
She is survived by her children John Thomas Lindsey II, Dennis Alan Lindsey, Paul Edward Lindsey and Susan Teresa Metcalf, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grand children and many other extended family members.
