Minnie Ilene Price passed away on Friday, April 1st, 2022 at the age of 91.
The daughter of E.A. and Audrey (Sutton) Price was born October 9, 1930 in Hominy Creek, Oklahoma. She would begin school at Hominy and then finish at Barnsdall, graduating as a member of the class of 1949. It was also around this time that Minnie would meet Buck Price, a local cowboy. The two began dating and married on July 18, 1950. The newlywed couple would make their home in Clovis, New Mexico. During this time Minnie would work hard to help provide for her family. Being raised on a farm gave her first hand knowledge on how to do this. She helped raise animals and grew a large garden every year so she could can for later use. Eventually Minnie and her family moved into town, where she took a job managing the Silver Spur Hotel. In August of 1975 Minnie and her family decided to return to Oklahoma, settling in Barnsdall. A few years later in 1978. Minnie would make one final move to her current home in Chelsea. Again, wanting to help her family, Minnie returned to the workforce. She took a job at Cinch Connectors in Vinita. She would retire from there after 28 years of service. During this time she was also a sales rep with Avon and Stanley Products.
In her spare time Minnie enjoyed many things. She loved to sew, crochet, and embroidery, while taking the time to teach the craft to her children and grandchilren. She loved cooking, especialy for family events. Christmas was her favorite. She also had a giving heart. There are many people she helped through difficult times, and wanted nothing in return. Church was important to her, and she frequently volunteered at Community of Christ Church, where she was a member.
