Graveside service for LaVera "Mourine" Beach will be 2 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 31, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Mark Hyskell officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m.
Mourine passed away Mon., Dec. 28, 2015, at St. John Hospital at the age of 83.
The daughter of Elmen Dwight Hughes and Vera Louise (Scobee) Hughes was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Logan. Mourine attended school in Laverne, and went on to attend cosmetology school in Wichita, KS. She met Art in Wichita where he worked for Boeing. They were married on Dec. 11, 1955. Art and Mourine made their home in Slidell, LA, and Oklahoma City before moving to Claremore. Mourine worked for Gateway Luggage, and then went to work for Wal-mart where she started in sales and worked her way up to Divisional Manager of the shoe department.
When Mourine was younger she loved to dance and play piano and accordian with her father's band. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mourine was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
She was survived by her children: Larry Organ, Dalesa McCaw, and Teresa Reding all of Claremore; grandchildren: April Hyskell and husband, David of Claremore, Candice Organ of Claremore, Jennifer Smith and husband, Dustin of Greenwood, AR, Colten McCaw of Claremore, Ciara Palone of Claremore, Casey Reding of Claremore, and Ashley Smith and husband, Zach of Owasso; and 9 great-grandchildren.
