Blanche Nadine Cobb, 70, of Claremore, OK, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at St. John Hospital in Tulsa. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Claremore. Visitation will be Monday, February 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.
Nadine, as she was known throughout her life, was born in Tiawah, OK, on October 18, 1940 to Allen “Doc” Yocham and Viola Crutchfield Yocham. She attended elementary school in the Willeo community and graduated from Inola High School in 1957. She married Joe Harder soon after graduation, and had two sons, Tony and Steven Harder. In 1966 the family moved to Atlanta, GA. After her marriage to Joe, Nadine married Jack Cobb in 1977. She stayed in Atlanta until 2003, when, after her retirement from a successful career in business, she moved to Greenville, SC.
Nadine returned to OK in October of 2006. She bought a home in Claremore and joined First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Her time was spent loving and caring for her mother, Viola, until her death in 2009. She later devoted much of her time to caring for her aunts. The things Nadine enjoyed most in life were her screened in porch, her flowers, and her family. She will be remembered for her generous hospitality, warm hugs, and homemade fudge. Nadine will be dearly missed by her family, whose lives were so much a part of her own.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Vi Yocham.
She is survived by her sisters, Rita Davis of Claremore, and Brenda Chase and husband Bill of Inola, and brother Richard Yocham of Inola; her sons, Tony Harder and wife Janna of Piedmont, SC, and Steven Harder of Bartlesville; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
