Funeral service for Wilma "Nadine" Weatherly will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, at Inola United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Shepherd officiating. Visitation will be held at the Inola Funeral Home Friday 1-8 p.m.
Nadine departed this life on Sat., July 2, 2016, at her home in Inola at the age of 87 with her family by her side.
The daughter of Willard Roy Hardin and Alma Lee (Fairfield) Hardin was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Conway, AR. Her father died when Nadine was 12, and she helped to raised her brother and two sisters. She took great pride in fulfilling her responsibility and was a very caring person. She was a graduate of Conway High School. On July 3, 1948, Nadine married Charles Jackson Weatherly in Conway. They made their home in Conway and had their first son, Bobby Wayne. In 1955, they moved to Tulsa and lived there when they had their second son, Charles Alan, was born. In 1973, they moved to Inola where they still live.
Nadine retired as a book keeper from Mount Appliances in Tulsa. She enjoyed painting and gifting her family and friends with her artwork. She spent many enjoyable hours researching genealogy, cooking, and being involved in community activities with her sorority, Sigma Chi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA). She was an active member for 34 years. Nadine attended Inola United Methodist Church. Of all her many activities her favorite was that of wife, mother, and granny to her husband, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent a lifetime helping others. She was the family fixer. If anything needed done or a wrong made right she got the call and handled it.
Nadine was preceded in death by her father, Willard Roy Hardin; mother, Alma Lee Hardin; brother, Lee Roy Hardin; and sister, Doris Faye Burgess.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles Weatherly; sons: Bobby Wayne Weatherly and Charles Alan Weatherly; granddaughter, Alanna Nicole Starr and husband, Paul; grandson, Justin Taylor Weatherly; great-grandsons: Cody Ray Starr, Noah Taylor Starr, and a great-grandson, Kyle, due in about four weeks; a very special sister, Betty Robinette; and many nieces and nephews.
