Nelda Sue Thompson

Memorial service for Nelda Thompson will be 2:00p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel.  Nelda passed away on May 31, 2024.  She was 83.

Nelda Sue Thompson was born on October 22, 1940, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jewel Wilson.  She married Ronnie Walton and to this union 3 children were born, later she married Warren Walmer and to this union 2 children were born, and in 1976 she married Alan Thompson.  

Nelda's journey through life was marked by various chapters that shaped her into the remarkable person she was. Starting off as a dedicated homemaker while her children were young, Nelda later pursued a career at Avis Car Rental before becoming a certified travel agent. Her passion for exploring the world led her to work for many years in Canyon County, California. When she married Alan Thompson, they ventured into entrepreneurship by owning Air Chariot Aviation, where Nelda served as the vice president.

Known for her sociable demeanor and ability to strike up conversations effortlessly, Nelda's warm personality made everyone feel welcomed in her presence. Her love for family shone brightly as she cherished moments spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren - earning her the endearing title of GG.

Outside of work and family life, Nelda found joy in traveling alongside her husband Alan. Their adventures took them to enchanting destinations like Paris, Athens, and Hawaii - creating lasting memories that will forever remain cherished.

Nelda leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who survive her. She is survived by her children: Rick Walton and wife Cindy, Ronna Smith and husband Nick, Sabra Thompson and wife Liz; grandchildren: Eric Smith, Sarah Bachman, Jennifer Walton, Justin Walmer, Daniel Bachman, Katie Walton-Smith, Kellie Walton-Smith; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Ryland, Kayson, Kinlee, Khloe, Emma, Charlie, Savannah, Dax, Phoenix, Tristan, Bostyn, and Noah, great great grandson Hendrix.  In addition to her immediate family are countless friends who were touched by Nelda's kindness throughout the years.  Nelda was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Alan Thompson and sadly endured the loss of her daughter Robynn Walton-Tremain and son Warren Walmer, Jr.
