Norma Jean Gatrell

Funeral service for Norma Jean Gatrell will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Norma passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 75.

The daughter of Robert and Mary Patrick Hemmert was born March 7, 1937, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. As a young girl she and her family moved to Tulsa. There she attended Tulsa schools graduating from Central High School in 1955. After graduation, wanting to continue her education she enrolled in Draughons School of Business. Upon graduation she began working for Cain's Coffee in Tulsa. While working she met the love of her life in Harold Dean Gatrell. They were married January 10, 1959 in Tulsa. Wanting to move out of Tulsa the family purchased a home in Inola in 1968. There they became a permanent part of the Inola community. She decided to leave the corporate world and make her primary responsibility her children and husband. Norma was active in Calvary Baptist Church, and loved to help with vacation Bible school. In her spare time she loved working with arts and crafts. Crocheting was one of her favorite crafts. Traveling to Branson was another of her favorite things. She would make it there at least a few times a year.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Hemmert.

Survivors include her husband, Dean of Tulsa; her children, Deana Moore and husband, Glen of Claremore, Kevin Gatrell and wife, Rhonda of Broken Arrow, and Kim Marcotte and husband, Tim of Claremore; grandchildren, Nicole Moore Woods and husband, Michael, Garrett Moore, Drew Moore, Gavin Gatrell and wife, Lindsay, Ashley Gatrell Wilson and husband, Andrew, Brittany Gatrell, Keenin Marcotte and wife, Claire, Colton Marcotte, and Corbin Marcotte; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
