Norman Lester Jones

Memorial service for Claremore resident, Norman Lester Jones will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel in Claremore. He passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO on July 22, 2021. He was 64 years old.

Norman Lester Jones, the son of Frank Lester Jones and Norma Ruth (Nelms) Casey, was born in Tulsa on June 12, 1957. He attended high school in Claremore. For twenty plus years, he was an employee of Tulsa Chrome. After his retirement, he began working at Walmart. He treasured the time he was able to spend with his Walmart family.

In his spare time, Lester was a sponsor at the N.A., and was a pool shark at Ernie's Pool Hall. He loved fishing and camping, and making people laugh. He especially loved his nieces and nephews, and always made Christmas special for his family.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Norma, as well as his step-dad, Everett Gideon. Also, his brothers Lonnie “Waterbee” Jones, Tommy Jones, and Frank Lester Jones, Jr., his sister Alesa Gideon, and his nephew Jack Jones.

He is survived by his brother Roy Jones, sisters Frankie Janell and husband John, and Zelda Morse; nephews John Rogers, Ryder Moore, Thayer Moore, and Deacon Rogers; nieces Kaunstance Morse, Khrysstance Moore and husband Robert, Gabby Rogers, and McKenna Rogers.
