Funeral service for O.D. Miller will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Chaplain John Lay officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 3-4 p.m.
O.D. passed away Thurs., March 1, 2012, at the Claremore Veterans Center at the age of 87.
The son of Charles and Maude Miller was born October 13, 1924, in Oologah. O.D. served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge, and he was a 32nd degree Free Mason. O.D. retired from American Airlines after 42 years of service. He enjoyed gunsmithing, hunting, fishing, camping, photographing nature, and cabinet making.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janice Marie Miller McCoy; 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home; daughters, Patty Miller Denton of Broken Arrow, and Debi Miller Sparks of Fort Stewart, GA; step-children, James A. Ritter of Claremore, Sandra K. Huff and husband, Tom, and Sherri L. Austin and husband, Cy all of Danville, IL; 5 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandsons, and 14 step great-grandchildren.
