A home going celebration for Oce Davis will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel. A graveside service with military honors by the U.S. Army will be held at 2 p.m. at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
Mr. Davis went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2011 at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 86.
The son of Henry C. and Lenora Vann Davis was born July 8, 1924 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. He attended Chelsea and Claremore schools. With the outbreak of World Ward II Oce joined the United States Army. After being discharged on January 16, 1946 Oce returned to Claremore. He worked in the Claremore area for many years as a handyman, and a steel cutter. His last job was a 12 year career at Hydra Hoist. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother Carl Davis of Claremore and cousin Mildred Walsh of Kansas City, Missouri.
