Claremore

Services for Ona Janice Clark will be 11:00a.m., Friday, January 26, 2024, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, January 25, from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm.  Ona Janice (Jan) Clark, 86 years old, of Claremore, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on Jan 19, 2024, after a short illness.

Jan was born in Berryville, Arkansas on March 14, 1937.  Eventually her parents moved to a farm in Hollister, MO, and graduated from Hollister High School.  Soon after graduating she moved to Tulsa where she worked in the insurance industry.  While in Tulsa she crashed into a car (Jan says barely scraped it) and met Thomas Glenn Clark, II.  Jan married Tom, on March 11, 1957, in Claremore, Oklahoma.  They were married 50 years before his death in 2007.  Jan devoted her life to her husband and 5 children as a military spouse and housewife.  Tom was in the Navy for many years and almost always deployed which meant several permanent station moves by herself with children in tow from New Orleans to San Diego and then Hawaii.   Her kids were her world and she made sure they were provided with everything they needed and loved them more than anything else.  She made each child and grandchild feel like her “favorite”.  She loved camping and took all of her kids (and kid’s friends) on camping trips to include Spavinaw Lake, OK, Roaring River State Park, MO, Bull Shoals Lake, AR to name a few.  She also loved to take road trips across the country and go on cruises.  A precious notable, she always replied to her kids and grandkids when they told her “I Love You” with “I Love You More”!  Jan was saved and dedicated her life to the Lord many years ago.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ella Moore, her husband Tom Clark, II, two brothers and their wives, (Charles Moore and wife Betty) and (Stanley Moore and wife Connie) and 3 great-grandchildren (triplets), Bret, Jada, and Coby Ward.

Mom’s mom (Granny Moore) always “jokingly” said, “Be ye fruitful and multiply”, as she did!

Jan (Mom) is survived by her 5 children: Cindy Ward and husband Richard Ward of Claremore.  They blessed Mom with 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild: Tom Clark, III and wife Lori Clark of Claremore.  They blessed Mom with 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Andy Clark and wife Jana Clark of Tampa, Florida.  They blessed Mom with 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Marcia Stephens and husband Mike Stephens of Claremore.  They blessed Mom with 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren: Sharon Daugherty and husband Jimmy Daugherty of Claremore.  They blessed Mom with 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.  Aunt Jan is also survived by her Nieces and Nephews: Tiena Moore Woodburn of Scottsdale, Arizona, Gene Moore and Greg Moore of Branson, Missouri.  Karen Janssen of Albuquerque, NM.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Ward, Tom Honeycutt, Ty Clark, Christopher Stephens, Scott Stephens, and River Stanbro.  Alternates are Korbin Braden and Tony Honeycutt.  Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Stephens and Zakree Clark.
