Services for Opal Lucille Miller will be 11:00a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Inola Funeral Home & Crematory, burial will follow at Sweeten Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 2pm-6pm. Opal passed from this life on Monday, May 20, 2024, she was 89 years old.
Opal Lucille Miller was born on October 3rd, 1934, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Charles E. and Naomi Pope, she was one of eleven siblings. She was raised in the Bartlesville and Ochelata area, where she later graduated from. Opal enjoyed her career at Southwestern Bell, which later transitioned to AT&T, where she worked as a telephone operator and eventually retired. Opal's commitment and hard work were evident throughout her professional journey.
On August 26th, 1972, Opal married the love of her life, Bill Miller. Together, they made their home in Inola surrounded by a community they cherished deeply. Opal and Bill's bond was a true testament to enduring love and partnership. They attended First Baptist Church in Inola for many years and had many friends there.
Opal's interests were beautifully simple yet profound. She found utmost joy in spending quality time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren who brought immense pride and happiness into her life. Opal’s hobbies included sewing, playing piano, participating in anything church related, and reading.
Opal leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by those closest to her. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Naomi Pope, her devoted husband, Bill Miller, as well as several siblings: Leland, Lois, Glenda, Rene, JoAnne, and Junie. Cherishing Opal's memory are her son Billy Miller and his fiancée Shawna Goins; grandchildren Carissa Devine and her husband Coty, and Hannah Miller; great-grandchildren Theodore and Arthur Devine; brothers Jerry Pope and John Pope; sisters Susie Hudson and Donna Mae.
Opal Lucile Miller will be fondly remembered for her love-filled life, unwavering dedication to her faith and family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
