Patty Jean Green

Patty B. Green passed away August 8, 2012 at the age of 77.
Born August 21, 1934 in Claremore to Walter L. and Maude Matthews Boyd, Patty was raised in rural Claremore where she attended Winganon, Justus and Foyil schools. Patty was an excellent athlete and a star basketball player. After skipping several grades, Patty graduated from Foyil High School when she was 15 and soon went to work for American Airlines. Patty met the love of her life Dr. John W. Green Jr. in Claremore in the early 1960s. They were married April 21, 1965 at their residence in Claremore. Because John did not work on Friday's, Patty soon quit American Airlines to join him at his practice. After the birth of their son, Roy, they moved their practice to Langley, Oklahoma; where John practiced dentistry until his retirement in 1986. After John passed away, Patty went to work as a legal secretary for Logan and Lowry Law firm in Vinita. She was with the firm for more than 20 years when she retired to be a full time grandma. Patty loved watching her grandsons play baseball, fishing with them on the dock and baking them brownies and chocolate chip cookies. Patty also loved time at Spavinaw Creek with her nieces Suzanne and Dianne.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Maude; husband Dr. John W. Green Jr., and siblings Ross Boyd, Jack Boyd, Zelma Norfleet, Ruth Barger, and Betty Barnes.
Survivors include her son, Roy B. Green and wife Tiffany of Big Cabin; daughter, Susan Kallenbach and husband Darel of Church Point, Louisiana, and grandchildren Derek Dillman, Keagan Green and Kael Green.

There will be a celebration of Patty's life Monday August 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of Mary Lee and Jack Spinks in Claremore for all of her friends and family. Mary Lee and Jack Spinks are located at 1408 Quail Valley Drive, Claremore, Ok in the Meadows Housing Addition.
