Paul Arthur Renaud passed away on July 16, 2021. He was 89 years old. Paul was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on August 16th, 1931.He attended St. Anthony Schools in New Bedford. Paul felt that he needed to serve his country and stopped going to school and enlisted in the Army 1948-1952 during the Korean War. He also served in the Navy 1963-1991 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam Era. During his time of service he was awarded the Korean Defense Service, United Nation Service NAtional Defense Service, and Good Conduct. He was stationed at Ft. Belvoir and while stationed there, he obtained his GED. In1948 he met the love of his life, Hazel Milam. The two married in 1950 in Charleston, West Virginia.
Paul had many hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed being a HAM radio operator, He loved country music especially playing the guitar and harmonica. One of Paul's biggest accomplishments was being inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame.
Once Paul retired He and Hazel sold everything they had and bought a motor home and traveled the 48 of the 50 United States.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents George and Estelle Renaud; brothers Sylvio Renaud, Roger Renaud and sister Georgette Letendre;
he is survived by his wife Hazel Renaud; Daughter Janet Sparger; Son David Renaud; Sisters, Yvette Costa and Germaine Stephens; brother Marcel Renaud; 8 grand children and 17 great grandchildren.
