The daughter of Raymond and Rosa "Pauline" (Hightower) Coffman was born Aug. 10, 1946, in St. Louis, MO. Paula grew up in Kansas City, MO, Springfield, MO, and Denver, CO, where she graduated from high school in 1964. Paula met Timothy Stalcup while he was training at Lowry Air Force Base. They were married on Nov. 24, 1966, in Aurora, CO. They lived all over the U.S. and in Germany while Timothy served in the Air Force until he retired. They eventually made their home in Phoenix where they raised their children. Paula was a textbook mother and homemaker. She loved her family and devoted all her time to caring for them. She was a baseball team mother and ROTC mother while her children were growing up. She raised many children through the years, and it was not unusual to find their house filled with children spending the night. From a young age Paula was a talented musician. At the age of 4 she began playing piano. After her children were grown she became the pianist for the choir director of Trevor Brown High School in Phoenix, along with playing piano and organ at Calvary United Methodist Church. She was skilled at playing many instruments including the guitar, oboe, flute, cello, violin, and clarinet. In 2008, Timothy and Paula moved to Chelsea. Paula played piano at Epworth United Methodist Church, and has played for the past several years at her church, Memorial United Methodist Church.
