Graveside service for Pauline Elizabeth Fairchild will be 11 a.m., Wed., May 7, at Washington Cemetery with Pastor Slade Story officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Pauline passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 77.
The daughter of Thomas F. and Ella Augustine (Barnes) Brady was born Oct. 28, 1936 in Bartlesville. Pauline grew up in Bartlesville and Foyil. On Feb. 15, 1952, she married Manley Oscar Fairchild. They moved around following harvest to find work. Pauline enjoyed crocheting making beautiful afghans and dolls. She was also a talented musician playing the guitar, organ, and piano. Pauline also enjoyed tending her garden raising vegetables and flowers. She worked in the home health field for many years, and relaxed reading the Bible.
Pauline is preceded in death her parents; son, Gilbert Fairchild; and sister, Peggy Borrow.
She is survived by her daughter, Marian Slimak and husband, Ron of Oologah; sons: Manley Fairchild of Foyil, Tommy Fairchild of Claremore, Donald Fairchild and wife, Erica, James Fairchild and wife, Pam of Chelsea, and Chris Fairchild and wife, Kimbra of Chelsea; daughter-in-law, Sheila Fairchild of Claremore; brothers: Paul and John Brady; sisters: Naomi Herbert, Barbara Barnett, Mary Lewis, and Patsy Kemp; 18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
