Funeral service for Pauline Kee will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery.
Pauline passed away on December 19, 2016 at the age of 93.
The daughter of Tom and Emma Eller Parker was born October 29, 1923 in Chelsea. After graduating from Chelsea High School, Pauline met Elmer Kee, who was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. In 1942 she traveled to Tampa, Florida, and while on leave she and Elmer were married. However a short time later Elmer was sent overseas and Pauline returned home to Chelsea. Upon his discharge Pauline and Elmer moved to Texas. Over the next few years Pauline and Elmer moved a few times. However in 1952 the couple made their biggest move, and settled in Anchorage, Alaska.
In Alaska Pauline became very involved in her community. She helped establish the Muldoon Community Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School and vacation Bible school. She also opened Kee's Kiddie Kare, which was a Christian themed day care center. Pauline personally ran the day to day business, until closing in 2001, after almost 30 years in operation. She was 78 at that time.
In her spare time Pauline loved camping. She also enjoyed traveling with her family, throughout the United States visiting many of the National Parks.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Emma Parker; husband, Elmer C. Kee and daughter, Carrie Lynn Rusche.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Brewer and husband Stephen Saunders of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Robert Brewer and wife Lori of Anchorage, Jonathan Kee of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Katherine Davis of Anchorage; great-grandchildren, Robbie Brewer, Adora Davis and Roman Davis.
