Pedro passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the age of 83.
The son of Emory and Nellie Warren Morris was born May 18, 1931 in Snyder, Oklahoma. He and his family lived there until moving to rural Chelsea settling in the Waller community. There he attended Waller school until the 8th grade. He then went to Chelsea High School, graduating with the class of 1952. Being raised on a farm, Pedro was no stranger to work. So after graduation he quickly found a job working in the oil fields, as well as continuing to farm with his father. It was also around this time that he was introduced to Wanda Hughes. They were married September 10, 1953 in Vinita. Following oil field work, they moved to Farmington, New Mexico. However, after a year or so they decided to return to Chelsea. Again he returned to farming and oil field work, as well as working in Vinita at Hay and Grain Feed Mill. In the early 1980's after an injury, Pedro retired from all work other than farming. In his spare time Pedro loved to be around people. Telling jokes, stories, and helping them with anything they needed. He also loved repairing equipment for others, and building parts from scratch, if needed.
