Pee-wee Casey

Funeral service for Norma Ruth "Pee-wee" (Nelms) Casey will be 2 p.m., Wed., Sept. 16, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Lesa and Daryl Golbek officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Pee-wee passed away Fri., Sept. 11, 2015, at Jane Phillips Medical Center at the age of 79.

The daughter of Ross Felix Nelms and Verdie Viola (Arnett) Nelms was born April 11, 1936, in Claremore. She grew up outside of Claremore and attended Washington school. Norma was a homemaker, and loved being with her family. She cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren, and also her beloved puppy, Rosie Jones. Pee-wee also enjoyed reading, and watching the birds, especially the red birds. She attended Westside Holiness Church when she was able.

Pee-wee was preceded in death by her children: Lonnie Ross "Waterbee" Jones and Alesa Gideon; grandson, Jack Jones; brother, Manley Fairchild; and sister, Bernice Green.

She is survived by her children: Norman Lester Jones of Claremore, Zelda Morse of Claremore, and Frankie Janell Rogers and husband, John Rogers, Sr. of Locust Grove; brother, Don Nelms of Chelsea; grandchildren: John Rogers, Jr. and wife, Emerant of Locust Grove, Kaunstance Morse of Claremore, and Khrysstance Moore and husband, Robert of Claremore; and great-grandchildren: Ryder Moore and Deacon Rogers.
