Memorial service for Peggy Ann Pierce will be 1 p.m., Sat., April 7, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Tom Launius officiating.
Peggy died Sat., Nov. 12, 2011, in Anaheim, CA, at the age of 74.
On July 30, 1937, Peggy was born in Sterling, KS. Peggy was an only child. She attended high school in Hays, KS, and graduated in 1954. Peggy married Lewis Ray Pierce on Jan. 29, 1955. On Sept. 13, 1958, her first daughter, Monica LuAnn was born. Her second daughter, Valerie Lynn was born on June 1, 1961.
Peggy was a stay at home mom while the girls were young. She went to work as a veterinary assistant in 1966, a job she thoroughly enjoyed and held for many years. In 1979, Peggy and Lew moved to California where they first owned a body shop and then started a construction business, specializing in fire and water restoration.
On Jan. 13, 1990, her granddaughter, Ryen Nicole was born. On May 19, 1993, her grandson, Stratton Lewis was born. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they brought her much happiness, laughter and love. In 1995, she and Lew retired and moved to Desert Hot Springs where they enjoyed the warmth of the desert sun.
In true form, Peggy bravely battled her cancer for over a year, rarely showing the outside world the toll it was taking on her. To know Peggy was to love her and she will be missed by many, many people.
Peggy is survived by her daughters: Monica and husband, tony Serfustini, and Valerie and her husband, Bob Kim; and her grandchildren: Ryen and Stratton.
