Phillip Barton was called home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2021.
Born to Elmer and Gertrude Barton on August 23, 1943 in Tulsa, OK,
he was the youngest of 7 children. He lived and attended school in west Tulsa
and graduated from Webster High School. As a young boy, Phillip had a knack for
repairing ,designing and building things. He was inquisitive and loved to figure out
how things worked.. In high school, you would likely run into
Phil in auto shop, cruising the strip, or on the wresting mat. He had an infectious
smile and was known for his sense of humor, work ethic, and generosity. He was
well-liked and respected by his family, friends, and classmates.
Phillip served in the US Navy, and was proud of his country. Following his Navy
service, he moved back to Tulsa and started a family. He was a book
keeper for several companies, and then worked for QuikTrip and the Tulsa World and in retail
auto parts. Phil's interests included: cars, fishing, woodworking, cooking, music and
visiting with family and friends. He was a follower of Christ with a servant's
heart, and would drop what he was doing to help anyone . He was known
as the 'go-to guy' by his Church family and many others. Phil loved to talk about
the Lord and pray for those in need.
Phillip is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Daniel Barton and his
sisters Lois, Charlotte, Pat. Phillip is survived by his children: Scott Barton of
Tulsa, Amy Brewster and husband Neal Brewster of Claremore, brothers Jack Barton and
Jerry Barton; and grandchildren Jorden Short and Konner Prelesnick. Phil was a loving father and friend. He will be missed by many.
