Funeral service for Phyllis Ann Booth will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 9, at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday 3-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6 -8 p.m.
Phyllis died Wed., July 7, 2010, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 72.
The daughter of Albert Lee "Jack" and Ethel Francis (Jackson) Barry was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Claremore, OK. Phyllis grew up in Cleveland, and graduated from Claremore High School in 1956. She was a homemaker; and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Cherokee Nation Tribe. Phyllis enjoyed quilting, reading, cooking, and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee; parents; twin brother, Jerry Barry; sisters: Ramona Barry, Terry Fifer, and Mable Gabbert; and brother, Jack Barry.
Survivors include her children: Jeannette Sawan of Claremore; Donald Kane of Huntsville, AL, Mark Kane and wife, Donna of Anthens, AL, Edna Harper and husband, Myron of Claremore, Lee Booth, Jr., of Claremore, Kathy Edwards of Okmulgee, and John Booth and wife, Leigh of Edmond; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Barry of Owasso; and sister, Helen Tillock and husband, Fred of Claremore.
